#ith reference to previous correspondence on tre subject of the proposed new Head Quarters for the Volunteer Corps,

I bave to acquaint you, for the information of His Excellency the Governor, taat st a meeting of the Staff and the Commanding Officers) of the several Jaits which was held yesterday a nenoreadoa was drawn up setting forth the accommodation weich is, in the opijioa of the meeting, cecessary to be provided at the new Head Quarters.

I nave comunicated tais menorsador to the Director of Public horks, and I non attach a copy of it.

if it is thought that the requireseats set forth

in the memorandum are somewhat large, I would respectfully state that the Officers are unaainously of opinion that it is absolutely necessary that the new Head Quarters should be sade convenient and confortable, so as to offer attractions to the 000-commissioned officers and men, or otherwise it will fall of 3coleving its object and the money spear on its erection ili nave been spent in vain. but if the scene is carried out in a satisfactory asaner, I anticipate that the best results will follow to the well-being and efficiency of the Corps.
